Meritxell Palleja is one of the new talents of Priorat. After having worked and been trained for 18 years under the demands and excellence of Alvaro Palacios, as well as prestigious vineyards in Napa Valley and Burgundy, she finally decided to go her own way.
Quality Wines from Gratallops
She has just opened her own winery in the centre of Gratallops, where she makes wine from the grapes of her own vineyards as well as a portion of grapes bought nearby. With Nita, whose first vintage was released in 2004, her philosophy is to produce quality wines with typical blends from the region of Priorat that are easy to drink and accessible financially. The result is an amazing price-enjoyment ratio with good drinkability and brilliant fruit which has earned it praise from national and international critics since its first vintages.
